About Cleopatra's Hamam Koyu (Göcek Islands Region)
Cleopatra's Hamam Koyu (sometimes referred to as Hamam Bay or Cleopatra's Bay) is a popular anchorage in the Göcek Islands region. Accessible only by boat or on foot, the bay can get congested during the day due to it's popularity with daily boat tours from nearby Fethiye and Göcek, but quiets down after about 5PM and provides a peaceful retreat for overnight gulet cruises.
Visitors to the bay can explore the ruins of an ancient hamam site, reputed to have been visited by Cleopatra and her lover, Mark Antony, around 40BC. Snorkelling is also very popular in the crystal clear waters of the bay.
